Board of Directors Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in joining United Way of Southeast Minnesota's Board of Directors. We are now accepting nominations for board service for terms beginning April 1, and ending March 31, 2028.

To submit a self-nomination, please first read the Board of Directors Job Description and consider whether you can commit to the responsibilities and time commitment required of a board member. These include supporting the organization in developing resources, meeting the ethical and fiduciary duties of a director, and participating in required board and committee activities.

After you have read the Board of Directors Job Description, you may complete the interest form below to self-nominate. Nominations will be accepted January 23-February 10, 2025. After submission, you can expect to hear back from us sometime in February; candidates may be invited to meet with United Way board and staff representatives for na informal interview. Final invitations to join the Board of Directors will be issued in March.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Attend board meetings, which take place the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11:30-1
Understand the mission and values of UWOC and use them in decision-making
Support UWOC with an annual financial contribution within the level of your ability
Participate on one additional board or staff committee annually
Advocate for the organization within your spheres of influence
